Hello! My name is Pat Wyman. 

Thank you for visiting our learning site and for caring so much about children. When children know they are successful as they are learning, their self-esteem goes up and they want to keep learning: today and in the future.

Some kids, however, may be frustrated and not getting the grades they want in school.  This is because there is often a mis-match between how they learn and how the school tests.  What really happens is that school's written testing system, as it is set up today, won't allow them to show what they know.  It is important to understand that the school's testing programs cater to only one type of learner - those who learn best visually, in pictures.  Other children, who learn best physically, with their bodies, or auditorily through listening, may suffer from low grades because their Natural Learning Style does not match that of the school's visual teaching and testing style.

(Accelerating Children's Success in School) Learning and Testing Strategy success model.  The new book, Learning vs Testing discusses solutions to the learning-testing mis-match and offers breakthrough information to help all children succeed in school.

If you'd like to know a little about me and why I created this site, read on: I have two children, ages 19 and 21 and have been a teacher for over 25 years.  I have a Masters Degree in Education and am totally committed to helping all children be successful.  After teaching nearly every grade in school, I am now an Instructor of Education at California State University, Hayward, Continuing and Extended Education Division.   I train teachers throughout the country and offer on-site workshops backed by over 13 years of successful pre and post test student data showing that over 50,000 students have raised their grades to A's and B's.  See Super Teaching Strategies.

As a Reading Specialist, I am especially interested in solving reading problems, so we offer free diagnostic reading tests and an individualized correction kit.  In addition, there is a video course filmed at Stanford University with Ron Davis, author of the "Gift of Dyslexia". This video is for educators and parents to learn the Davis Dyslexia Correction methods for children and adults!  Further, I teach another course called Dramatically Improving Student Reading Results on improving student reading results both on the Cal State campus and on school sites. 

I am also interested in how nutrition affects learning.  My book "What's Food Got To Do With It? - 101 Natural Remedies for Learning Disabilities" explores how food allergies can cause ADD and ADHD learning disability symptoms.
