Students from all over the country are invited to come up with their own BrainTwister!!
Pressman Toy Corporation announced the first annual MASTERMIND® BrainTwister Challenge October 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012.
Students are challenged to come up with their own games for the MASTERMIND® BrainTwister Challenge. Those can be puzzles, word problems or games with a solution or riddle.
Ages 7 through 12 are eligible and can enter online at www.mastermind-education.com.
Judges will review the entries based on three criteria: use of skills that are used in MASTERMIND® game play, creativity and degree of difficulty. Two First Place Winners will be awarded $1000 scholarships for best overall scores and three additional winners will each win $100 for receiving the highest score in each of three judging categories. Each of the two first place winners will have an opportunity to name a teacher to receive $250. Also, as part of the MASTERMIND education initiative, Pressman Toy offered to the first 10,000 teachers and homeschoolers who signed up on their website a free MASTERMIND board game for their classroom or home. In less than one week, more than 10,000 educators registered.
“The benefits to games like MASTERMIND® and the BrainTwister Challenge are extensive,” says Jim Pressman, CEO of Pressman Toys. “They help with educational, developmental and social growth. They also give families a way to spend quality time together by having fun.”
“We were just blown away by the response to the education MASTERMIND game offering,” said Norman Goldstein, CEO & founder, By Kids for Kids Co., who administered the program on behalf of Pressman Toy. “We’ve been working with schools across America for the last 10 years, and never have we seen such a tremendous response to a promotion from the education community.”
MASTERMIND® is a game that has been around for over 40 years. It teaches kids skills in logic, reasoning and strategic thinking.
