At 10 am it’s Saturday math circle time and students are primed to get started.
Cal State Fullerton sponsors Math Circle, a Saturday enrichment program for students in second through twelfth grades. Most of these students are on an advanced level. And they can’t get enough of this weekend opportunity to learn material beyond the typical school curriculum.
“These are kids who want to be here, said Bogdan Suceava, CSUF professor and leader of the Fullerton Math Circle. CSUF’s Math Circle has been around for four years. Suceava says similar programs have existed in Europe for more than a century.
Although some of the students are just barely in middle school, they are already publishing research posters.
