Just like your car – you need to turn on the engine before it gets moving and you need to “turn on” your brain & charge it up before you go to class.
FUN FACTS: Do you know that studies have shown students who eat breakfast regularly score better in their tests? Breakfast gives your brain the charge it needs to you can think clearly and faster.
Here’s a sample breakfast to help you get going.
1 small cup fresh or frozen berries; 1small banana; ½ cup low fat yogurt; a handful of almonds; 4/5 cup almond, rice or goat milk (check with your doctor to make sure you are not allergic to any type of milk first); ice is optional. Use your blender to mix enjoy the energy you feel.

Imagine how you would feel if you best friend gave you something you love for your birthday. That would just make your day wouldn’t it? Well that is how your brain would be too if you give it what it loves every day. Your brain will be so happy it will be tuned up and ready to absorb what you are learning in school just like a sponge!
So what makes your brain feel more efficient? Foods that are packed with omega-3’s essential fatty acids. Some foods that are a great source of Omega-3 fats are salmon, tuna (make sure your tuna is mercury free though), walnuts, and seeds.
