Real snow will greet families at The Bay Area Discovery Museum during their upcoming Snow Days Family Fundraiser Friday, Dec. 12 through Sunday, Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Northstar California Resort in Lake Tahoe will deliver the snow. Interactive snow play, and Winter Wonderland educational exhibits will delight families.
Kurt Zimmer, director of marketing for the museum is enthusiastic about the event. “For some of our younger guests, it may be their first chance to play in real snow;
and for those who already enjoy snow play and skiing, it’ll be a fun experience and a way to get excited for winter.”
Families will enjoy special winter themed activities. The Museum will be transformed into a winter wonderland. The activities include a kids’ train ride through the Museum’s grounds and art exhibits in the studios.
The Museum will offer early access to guests who attend the Snow Days Sponsor Breakfast, which includes a delectable choice of morning favorites as well as early access to exhibits, snow play and all planned activities.
Breakfast guests are invited to choose between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. on either Saturday, Dec. 13 or Sunday, Dec. 14. Individual Sponsor Breakfast tickets are available for $200; tables are available for $1000; other packages begin at $200 for a family of four; all Breakfast guests are offered 8:30 a.m. access to all Snow Days activities.

About the Bay Area Discovery Museum
The Bay Area Discovery Museum is designed to ignite creative thinking in children. 7.5 acres of natural beauty inspires families to engage in a world of possibilities. Framed by the majestic backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Museum is a space for imaginations to run wild. Every curated detail of its exhibits brings creative thinking to life for all stages of childhood. Navigate winding tunnels to develop physical and intellectual risk-taking skills. Feel the rush of cold-water tide pools that surprise and awaken curiosity. Imagine new worlds by transforming into a spider, a ship captain or a bridge builder. At every turn is a new opportunity to challenge the boundaries of creativity.
Now the Museum is taking these experiences beyond its physical location. The Museum launched the Center for Childhood Creativity in 2011 to pioneer new research, though-leadership and teacher training programs that advance creative thinking in all children – extending its impact beyond the Museum.
The Bay Area Discover Museum’s mission is to ignite and advance creative thinking for all children.
