A postcard project for first graders utilizing technology is helping kids connect with children around the world.
One of first grade teacher Kim Peters’ favorite quotes is from Dr. Seuss: “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
Peters has launched a project with her students, Postcards around the World, to connect them with their peers in different parts of the world.
“While I was traveling last summer, I collected a few postcards that I could share with my students. Then I realized I didn’t have to limit the sharing to just my experiences,” she said.
She shared the project on ePals, an online educational online community with global outreach. As a result, her students will connect with peers in 100 locations around the world through postcards, emails, and Skype calls.
