Students in grades 6-12 will soon find college prep on the web easier, thanks to a web based program that will be accessible next fall.
Students in Palmyra, Pennsylvania will have access to a program called Naviance, which will allow guidance counselors and teachers to add information such as a student’s GPA, academic data, and SAT scores.
The powerful tool will allow Palmyra students to compare GPAs and test scores against the averages of students admitted to individual colleges. It lists financial aid information, and creates lists of colleges that offer majors that students are interested in. There is also information on technical schools, community colleges, and training programs for careers.
Students who want to join the military or enter the work force can also be helped. They can research various careers, along with requirements and salaries. They can begin to use the tool to create a resume, which will be updated several times a year.
