For parents who want to encourage their children to use c, a new app helps kids learn and earn rewards.
The Learn and Earn app, made by Hiperware is currently under review by Apple. According to developer Amey Laud, it encourages kids in grades 1-4 to practice math skills. Parents can link it to an Amazon account, select what they will spend, and children select a prize in that range. The app keeps track of the goal and progress.
For example, if a parent allows $10 to be spent on a reward, the app shows the prizes that the child can choose. The parents also select how much use is required before earning the prize.
Once the goal is achieved, the parent is notified by the app.
Laud says the app is not intended for the top learners who do not need outside motivation. Likewise, it will not benefit children who need intense one on one help. “Kids don’t like math because they aren’t good at it, and they aren’t good because they don’t like it,” he said. “The more you do it the better you get and the more you like it.”
