Its an unusual method for learning, but a middle school teacher really does have Maine students pedaling in math class
Lambert is part of the Regional School Unit 18 wellness committee, and was charged with coming up with ideas for health and fitness grant proposals. When the two FitDesk bicycle desks arrived, the students immediately loved them. Students started hopping on the desks, pedaling, and working.
Eighth grader James Hardy says that working at the desk helps him get out some of his energy. In fact, the class tracked how many miles they pedaled, and set about pedaling enough miles to cross the USA.
“We got as far as Georgia,” Hardy said.
