A tiny house on wheels is the result of a high school teacher’s desire to have his students experience a variety of trades they could pursue after graduation.

A Tiny House on WheelsAt Logan High School,  the 296 foot home built by students lives currently on a 32 foot trailer. The $15,000 tiny house will go to a buyer in Minneapolis  who will live in the small space.

The tiny house movement inspired building construction teacher Jacob Schumacher to utilize it as part of teaching all the skills in building and selling a house. The movement is about downsizing and living more simply.

“This has everything a house has except for cement,” Schumacher said. “They get a little bit of everything.”

Students are able to work on the project at the school, rather than at a construction site. This gives them more class time to work on skills.
