The nonprofit Global Nomads Group is connecting American and Pakistani students and the result is some interesting communication.
One of the first questions the Pakistani students asked their American counterparts in Louisville was about Kentucky Fried Chicken. They were also curious about southern accents and believed that the American students all lived in backwoods areas they see in movies
There were other questions too – about politics and the presidential election. There were also questions about drugs, pollution, racism and climate change.
The American students had plenty of questions as well. They did their best to answer questions about America, and they asked about Pakistani dress and recreation. They also wanted to know about child labor, poverty and other issues.
The students have been connected since January by the nonprofit Global Nomads Group. They work with teachers and students around the world promoting communication and understanding.
