Because a college and career readiness partnership funds career programs, high school students in New Jersey are working through the summer on academic and career programs that will support their future.

College and Career Readiness Partnership Funds Career ProgramsAt Wildwood High School, juniors and seniors are getting real-world experience through a $250,000 College and Career Readiness Partnership Grant from the state Department of Education. They are working with local businesses as well as taking classes through Atlantic Cape Community College.

“The College and Career Readiness partnership grant has been an incredibly valuable addition to the academic, guidance, and career related offerings available at Wildwood High School,” said Superintendent Kenyon Kummings. “The design of the grant has meshed perfectly with the district’s strategic plan and the goal of providing our students the wrap-around services needed to ensure their successful preparation for college and careers.”

Last spring, five Saturday sessions were presented at Atlantic Cape, and this summer, students had a five day summer “boot camp.”
