In the Newton School System, teachers become leaders in technology through the training they receive in the Leaders of Tomorrow program.
The Innovative Leaders of Tomorrow Boot Camp was recently held to educate teachers and others in tools such as ClassFlow, Office 365, Canvas, Google, Discovery Education and ViewPath. The ILTs are expected to be the leaders in their school communities.
“As technology leaders, Innovative Leaders of Tomorrow are to stay abreast of cutting-edge technologies and strategies,” said Adam Phyall, director of technology and media services for the Newton County School System.
“Innovative Leaders of Tomorrow inspire students with the power of technology,” Phyall said. “They help them imagine a world not yet beheld.” The teachers were chosen by principals, who were supported by the technology and media services director and the system’s instructional technology coordinator. They will model technology integration for all teachers in the classroom.
