We all have stress in our lives no matter how good things are, and mostly, we are looking for positive ways to help manage it.

Whether you are in school trying to deal with exams and an overscheduled life, a parent trying to balance work and home, or in the workplace wanting to enhance your career, stress is something that none of us can escape.

But there are lots of solutions. Some people find answers on a path that they love in mediation, affirmations, support groups and more.

Others turn to ways that are not so healthy. (But we don’t recommend any of those however  :-)

Anyway, the good news is that there are simple and easy things, you can do in just a minute or so a day to positively acknowledge stress and then focus on the good in your life.

One star, Camila Mendes, and teen choice award winner with well over a million followers on Instagram, shared how she uses a gratitude journal to manage her stress.

Riverdale star and teen choice award winner, Camila Mendes has so much to be happy about, yet, just like everyone else she experiences stress in her life.

Back in the November issue of Shape she shared that that she once struggled with the eating disorder known as bulimia.

In her words: “I’ve struggled with bulimia. It happened a little bit in high school and again when I was in college,” she admits. Then it came back when I started working in this industry with fittings all the time and watching myself on camera. I had such an emotional relationship with food, and anxiety about everything I put into my body…”

In our view, Riverdale star Camila Mendes has done an amazing job inspiring her followers and given them a powerful tool to use during stressful times.

Expressing gratitude can be as easy as taking a minute in the morning or evening to write down something or someone you are grateful for.

Start doing this for a few days in a row, and very soon, your mind becomes like a puppy chasing a ball – you look for the good in your life everywhere.

Our recommendation: find what works best for you. For most people, it’s easy to use a gratitude journal with undated entries (no stress, right?). Remember gratitude journal and Riverdale Star Camila Mendes, because she helps you realize a wonderful way you can deal with stress.

Take a minute in the morning or evening, or both, and think of things or people in your life you have to be grateful for. It can be as easy as you loved your first cup of morning coffee. Or how about a sunset, sunrise, the good weather, your pet?

Oprah said this: “What you focus on expands, and when you focus on the goodness in your life, you create more of it. Opportunities, relationships, even money flowed my way when I learned to be grateful no matter what happened in my life.”

The One-Minute Gratitude Journal: For the Moments That Matter is a 52 week guide to a happier life. It’s in both paperback and kindle format so you can keep it with you all the time.

Riverdale star Camila Mendes says she loves to write in hers. How about you?

Truth be told, pen and paper is best because it uses more of the neural pathways in your brain and the act of writing your gratitude down is longer lasting than doing it mentally. But either way will work – if you use the kindle format, just use the flash cards to write down your gratitude!
