The Book of IF for Children
The Book of IF for Children wins Parent and Teacher Choice Award from HowtoLearn.com
Book
The Book of IF for Children teaches rhyming and early literacy to young children.
Kids will laugh and truly enjoy the rhyming play on words. When mom says, “Don’t play in the rain” and her child thinks she says, “Don’t play in the train, not only does your child love the book and the pictures, but they are quickly learning to differentiate sounds as well!
The Book of IF for Children is a wonderfully unique take on rhyming words and one that our Parent and Teacher Choice team loves!
It can be used by parents, early education teachers, reading teachers, and speech/language pathologists.
With repeated readings the children (1) learn to listen for slight differences between words, (2) practice expressive language communication skills, and (3) develop a love of literature and language.
The Book of IF is written by a retired speech/language pathologist, Lavelle Carlson, who often used this activity with students and now with grandchildren.
The activities target the pre-reading skill of phonological awareness and rhyming. It is a great start and introduction to pre-reading. Lavelle includes instructions in the back of the book for teaching literacy and helping kids to practice rhyming and much more! She thought of everything with this book!
The Book of IF for Children by Lavelle Carlson is unanimously chosen as the gold medal winner from the Parent and Teacher Choice Award team.
